What we keep, and why

Your email

You sign in with your email and a one-time code. We use the address to sign you in and to send you what you asked for: updates on your applications or your posts, and new-job emails if you turned them on. No marketing, and we never sell or share it.

If you apply

We keep what you type: your answers, what you’ve done, your ask, and your profile if you make one. The company you apply to sees your alias and your work. It never sees your email, and sees your name only if you choose to share it. A public profile shows your alias, strengths, industry, where you are, your availability, your rate and what you’ve done, and nothing that names you.

If you post a role

The post is public. Your email stays private; applicants reach you through the site. Messages between you and an applicant are kept so both of you can read them.

New-job emails

Nothing is sent until you confirm by email. Each email has a link that stops them in one click and deletes your address from the list.

Where it lives

On our own servers in the European Union. Cloudflare sits in front of the site to keep it up and stop abuse, and delivers our email. Our servers keep ordinary web logs, including your IP address, for a short time for the same reasons.

What the site doesn’t do

No analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts and everything else load from this site. One cookie keeps you signed in. The salary calculator runs in your browser and saves nothing. No decision about you is made by software: companies decide who to talk to and who to hire.

How long

While you use the site. Posts leave the board when the company closes them, or after 60 days. Ask us and we delete your account, your profile, your posts and your applications within a month.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to what we do with it, and complain to a supervisory authority; in Portugal that is the CNPD. Write to [email protected] and we answer within a month. Where we rely on legitimate interest rather than your consent, it is to keep the service running and prevent abuse.
