Chief AI Officer salary

A chief AI officer is the operator in the C-suite. They set the direction with the CEO, answer to the board, and own AI across the business, its risks included. Pay is wide because the seat is: it can be the first executive at a mid-size business or the head of AI at a large group.

What the formula says

Our salary calculator estimates what a particular operator is worth to a business, from their skills, seat and results. It’s a published formula, not an AI, and it isn’t a survey of what ads offer: strong operators come out above most ads, and that’s the point of the calculator. What moves the number

• The seat itself. In the formula a C-suite seat multiplies everything else by 2.2.
• Results a business has signed off: a saving or new revenue a year, the bigger the better.
• The size of the business they changed, and whether it's regulated.
• Having founded a company, or sold one.
