A fractional AI operator works two or three days a week for a business that doesn't need a full-time one yet, or can't afford one. Many work for two or three businesses at once, usually as contractors.

What the formula says

Our salary calculator estimates what a particular operator is worth to a business, from their skills, seat and results. It’s a published formula, not an AI, and it isn’t a survey of what ads offer: strong operators come out above most ads, and that’s the point of the calculator. What moves the number

• Days a week: pay is pro rata, the same rate as full-time.
• Working as a contractor. The formula adds 30% for the costs an employer would otherwise carry.
• Skills, seat and results, exactly as for a full-time operator.
